Sri Nannagaru visits Arunachala Christmas 2015

One of the best known spiritual Masters who visit Arunachala is Sri Nannagaru. He is currently residing at his Ashram at Tiruvannamalai. He arrived on December 23, and will be leaving and returning to his native place in Andhra Pradesh, in the morning of December 29, 2015.

Below is a short extract of his narrative about a “pure mind.”

Sri Nannagaru is now 80 years of age

“One must have the grace of God to attain the highest state or the complete bliss state. Ishwara’s (God) grace is of utmost importance to reach the highest state. If his grace is not there, then all efforts may not be successful. The mind is the creation of God. A mind free from desires, greed and jealously, and which neither sees good nor bad, such a mind is known as ‘bangara manasu’ (a mind that is pure). Such a mind is given by Maha Vishnu.

Followed by his Andhra devotees to Arunachala

All the sadhana or spiritual practice that we are doing is to attain that ‘bangara manasu’. Our actions in the past affect us in this birth in two ways: the body suffers from disease;and the mind gets trapped in grief. Both disease and grief are fruits of previous actions (done in past births). So, in this life you must not keep recalling issues that have affected you. Leave them, forget them and move forward. In this life, do not be bothered about the past and the future. Future actions will take place as they have to. Thinking about them and disturbing the mind is not correct. Each one must learn to dwell in solitude (Ekanta Vasa) at least for an hour each day.

If you face all events in life happily, slowly the result of the past actions decreases. Gradually you will gain supreme knowledge. Each task or work assigned by God to you must be performed in a righteous way. If it is not possible, then do not do it. As far as possible do not jump into other people’s issues. This again leads to ignorance. But you can do tasks for the welfare of others.

Feed and take care of old people and animals in the house. Think that the Lord has come in their form. This process is called seva or selfless service. Then the work does not become a burden. Through work you are glorifying God.”

Help from Yogi Ramsuratkumar

Yesterday Wednesday September 10, 2014 I spent part of the morning at the Ashram of Yogi Ramsuratkumar. Whenever I have the opportunity to visit this Ashram, I always wonder why it has taken me so long to return there. Its a very beautiful and peaceful spot with a number of nice daily functions including pujas and chanting of the name. It is highly recommend that visitors to this Temple town spend time at the Ashram and Samadhi of this great saint.

To learn more about the life of Yogi Ramsuratkumar please visit his biography at my website Arunachala Samudra, at this link here.

The posting regarding the statue of the Yogi in his Samadhi Hall is very interesting, because it is the experience of many people that the statue indeed has a powerful energy. It is certainly a blessed place to visit if one needs help and inspiration in one's life.

Extract from above noticeboard by the side of the Statue:-

"Two parallel water lines linking this Statue and the Adhishtanam early on 22.02.2001, the day after interring of the physical bod of Bhagawan surprised every onlooker, for there was neither rain nor dew to carve out this pattern."

“The adhishtanam is a shrine where the mortal coil of the Sanyasins is interred and a Shiva Lingam is consecrated as per the Shastric injunctions. Its also known as Samadhi. The Adhishthanam of a Great Jnani is an abode, radiating serenity, holiness and spiritual splendor. The Devotees, sadhakas and pilgrims who visit the adhisthanam and reverentially do pradakshinam, japam, dhyanam, namaskarams and puja, become the recepients of the Jnani’s blessings. Spiritual seekers regard the adhishtanam as a place to sit, meditate and resonate with the ultimate silence. Many are the instances where seekers have been blessed specially while praying in an adhishtanam with directions, guidance, intuitive revelations, etc. pertaining to their sadhana.”

Visit to Swami's Ashram

In an earlier posting at this link I wrote about my first meeting with Sri Siva Jothi Mona Siddhar, during his short recent visit to Tiruvannamalai.

Swamiji’s Ashram is located a short distance from Tiruvannamalai and an increasing number of people are daily visiting him for his help, inspiration and support. Swamiji is becoming a renowned healer and siddhar and many turn up for either guidance in their lives (both spiritual and worldly) and/or with hopes for Swamiji’s healing of their physical woes.

Sri Siva Jothi Mona Siddhar

Yesterday I went to Swamiji’s Ashram (with some friends) for the first time. I had several matters I wanted to discuss with Swamiji, one of which was to ask for his help in healing a chronic ulcer on my leg.

He applied vibhutti to my wound in 12-15 strong downward vigorous motions. Afterwhich he gave me blessed vibhutti with instructions to apply the ash to my wound twice a day in the same manner. He also gave me three lemons which he held in his hands for some time and told me to daily drink the juice of one lemon with a pinch of vibhutti and salt. He advised me to continue with my allopathic medication and assured me that the ulcer would soon be healed.

Providing guidance and support to devotees and visitors

Swamijii does not take food himself (limiting himself to just a liquid diet), but because of the problems he encountered for many years when he was engaged in extensive sadhana, he now takes it upon himself to feed all who visit his ashram – which often amounts to many hundreds of devotees each day.

I shall write more about this fascinating Swamiji in the coming months.
